Dungeon Swap

Hello this is the first sharing of our development. From now on we will target to update the community regularly on our latest development status, on a weekly or bi-weekly basis so that we are all on the same page!

Game/Level Design

Some of you wondered whether the teaser gameplay picture you see on the whitepaper is the actual footage? The answer is yes and no. That was the UI design concept originally by our design staff, but now we are in the UI development stage which we are actually executing the UI design in the game play, meaning that the actual gameplay that you will see will be very close to the teaser that you saw. Below is the latest UI in development:

How do we make “The Dungeon” profitable?

How much should we allow the users to earn on each level? How much earning would result in a “Profitable” outcome of the Dungeon Master and so the extra token earned can be burnt? Luckily we have statistics expert in our team. From the law of large numbers, once we have an expectation of the outcome of each level, we can estimate how much DNDs will be burned over the users’ gameplay. But note that unlike Pancake’s lottery, this is not a zero sum game, because NFTs will be dropped with a certain probability. Financially it is like printing a new kind of currency (the concept as stated in the white paper, which we are now implementing)

“Boosting”

What is the concept of boosting? The concept of boosting is that the NFT will be directly affecting the battle outcome in terms of probability of victory. Again in the smart contract world, every thing is gas and gas is money, therefore we don’t want to make the formula complicated. A conversion of the NFTs into a victory probability is a reasonable approach to conserve the fun in collecting different NFTs and the the impact it has on the battle outcome.

NFT Equipment

What are the favorite equipment that you would like to add to the game? Perhaps we can hold an equipment naming/designing contest later so that users will actually see what they wanted into the game! Let alone our early holders & supporters will definitely receive NFT airdrop of such equipment.

Smart Contract Development

We are in full force developing our smart contract but as you understand the smart contract is not any programming language where any bugs could result in disastrous sequence, especially it is financial in nature. Therefore for this part, we will have to be extremely careful and that is why the development would take time. Currently we have established some basic gameplay functionality but the addition of equipment and magic, and the interaction between them would also take time.

Meanwhile, we are hiring an additional developer to help us. If you are a competent solidity developer and interested (both full/part time are welcome), please feel free to reach out to t.me/dungeonswap_admin or dungeonswap.app@gmail.com and we could definitely use your help!

Copywriting & Narrative

Currently we don’t have enough narrative elements. We expect to add more tabletop-RPG-style narrative after each battle, for example describing the battled that happened and how the user slayed the monster (or the other way round). A copywriting exercise will then be engaged (probably from hardcore tabletop RPG players more professional than we are!) to narrate the whole story flow.

Timeline

Our initial timeline was that the “Boss Battleground” (being a variation of Pancake’s Lottery) will be out first and then followed by “The Dungeon”. We have a second thought that “The Dungeon” would probably be more attractive from the players’ perspective and thus we have prioritized the development of “The Dungeon”. With the current progress, we target to release it between 2021 Q2 and 2021 Q3. That means there is still some time before our official release. Of course, we will keep you updated with our latest development progress and hope we can make it even faster with your support!
